Starting a Business in Vancouver Workshop

"I am ready. Where do I start?"

"I have already started a business plan but I think I may be missing
something."

This is the time where most mistakes happen. Starting a business is more than hard work. It starts with understanding that business, like any other trade or career, is a science. There are basics, starting with understanding the difference between an entrepreneur and a business person. As learned in the Exploring Self-Employment program, it is also important to understand the relevance of a business plan and how each module within the plan, works.

Unfortunately, the fact is that sometimes we do not know what we do not know.

The Starting a Business in Vancouver workshop incorporates practical, usable knowledge into interactive sessions that assist you with researching and writing a proper business plan. Case studies, from real world companies, combined with group exercises and oral presentations, give you valuable, fundamental skills development.

At the end of the 1-day session, you will have:

  • Received a detailed business plan template and a Starting a Business in Vancouver Guide
  • Become familiar which each module of a business plan
  • Identified the keys of market research - identify, analyze and summarize
    your research

  • Created your sales pitch
  • Brainstormed promotion strategies
  • Identified start-up barriers
  • Explored the financial section of your business plan
